MISS RED

Hi Sangathi, I wonder much how u missed a most important point (or 'sangathi' about 'red' and, that is, on our Goddess " AMBAL " ' she likes red and it has been very nicely described in Lalitha Sahasranamam in the 1st stanza itself as - "Sinduraruna vigraham trinayanam manikyamauli sphurat Tara nayaka shekharam smitamukhi mapina vakshoruham Panibhyamalipoorna ratna chashakam raktotpalam bibhratim Saumyam ratna ghatastha raktacharanam dhyayet paramambikam" meaning.... The Divine Mother is to be meditated upon as shining in a vermilion-red body, with three eyes, sporting a crown of rubies studded with the crescent moon, a face all smiles, a splendid bust, one hand holding a jewel-cup brimming with mead, and the other twirling a red lotus. Anyway, in your description of red, you summed up well. My appreciations. Bye. Good wishes. Yours, 'bharatheeyan'

LIBERATE US FROM THESE SELFISH GREEDY BANDICOOTS

Hey Kali Matha...."Liberate us from the strong nexus between politicians and criminals; destroy/eliminate  those who err."

Akilandeswari Matha...."Annihilate those unscrupulous legislative or parliament members who switch over from one party to the other at crucial times making democracy a mockery; destroy completely those bad, selfish elements."

Durga Matha....."We pray solemnly....let your soolam pierce those ruthless terrorists whatever religion they belong."

--these are few more thoughts, prayers...on this great Independence Day. Those who fought and sacrificed their precious lives for Independence should never go waste.

Ego & Mask never helps the mankind - Express yourselves Contest 29

All things need to go or develop concurrently.   India can't do anything in isolation. Due to scientific advancement, the world has become a close-knit fabric.....Whether some persons like it or not, India need to become at least a reasonable power......to safeguard our hard-won independence.   India has always had the benefit of wise counsels.....benefited by the advice of wise persons.....
& India will not use its power against any nation in a wrongful manner....and all Indians know it and assure it from the core of their heart.  This protest against entering into a nuclear agreement....from some segments of society is quite meaningless....afterall, India intends to use nuclear power or energy for peaceful purposes and for its development.   This fact many forget...& that is also another wonder in our world. To fulfil what all you say in your last para, India needs to follow a sound,
unbiased policy.......that way I greatly hail our former President of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam's remarks.  He is quite realistic & his support at the present juncture has great meanings.

ANOTHER CUP? humor

An extension of this wit.......

A wife rings up her husband's office to know whether he has reached office and ok.

The Office Boy from that Office tells her that he had already arrived and went for
his regular duty......

She asks, "What duty?"

The Office Boy replies....."Sleeping duty"

Thought of the day ( June 25, 2008 )

It is indeed a good thought.......it's a meaningful quote.  Thanks for the posting.

Listening also includes learnings. Learning is a lifelong process.

Yes, practice.....practising what one learnt , one aught to do.  Then only that person will know where he/she  stands.....I mean whether he/she  needs more practice, more wisdom, more learning etc. There should be always measuring rods.

It is more than enough if one practises and masters the first four steps; it is better to
avoid the fifth step because after learning a little, people tend to plunge into the fifth step!
I may be pardoned for this comment, overstepping................. because I am still in the 1st step.

CONCEPT OF CHASTITY AND CHANGING VALUES

It is all about common sense; our forefathers and all those men of wisdom in the past did
appeal (both in words and deeds) to men and women in the world to maintain the character; I believe that it is essential to continue to have peace of mind.   Peace of mind is the bedrock
for a successful family life.  To the extent one deviates in life, one will correspondly suffer...
What earthly use for anyone to say fate, karma and all such words!  Do we want a peaceful life or a life with lot of disturbances in mind?  Choice is entirely ours.  One of the essences of Srimad Ramayana is to lead a good moral life.....

Dasavatharam :(what a movie!) full review

Kamal has again proved that he is a fantastic actor......on par with any foreign actor.
It is a misfortune, we Indians,  do not recognize this truth.  In all the ten avatars
he acted wonderfully......it became difficult to identify some avatars......particularly
that of 'Old Iyengar Lady' to mention one.

Hats off to Kamal.

Part One

Surely Soumya is not anyway lacking in writing; she got a good style.  My appreciations.
All Sulekhites do want such write-ups.

Salam To Kalam

True, Dr.Kalam is a wonderful man, scientist with outstanding abilities.
He has great qualities for people to emulate.  He is always unbiased & balanced in his views
and adorned the President's post in a fitting, admiring  way.  What is lost by the whole
of India is a gain for Chennaites and for Anna University Students.

Our great regards to his humble man and we certainly look forward
to his contributions in all walks of life.
